Road to a billion dollars. Or so I thought.

Many young people with the help of the advancement in technology allowing an increase of information through Google, YouTube, Reddit and a variety of other online forums have believed they could be the next Jeff Bezos. At one point I thought the same. Who wouldn't want to have so much money in their account they couldn't count it? It seemed like a great idea to start a business, work from home, and spend as much time I could doing the things I loved to do rather than going to a 9-5 job working for someone I didn't like and not getting paid enough to buy more than some ramen noodles. I then stumbled across a platform called Shopify. Shopify allowed you to do something called drop shipping which was a process that allowed you to set up an online shop, sell things you didn't own, and you didn't actually have to have any of the inventory in your possession. It seemed like the perfect platform to start building my empire. Even though I had no idea what to actually sell or what people would want to buy, I started selling random clothes I could find for way cheaper on a website called AliExpress than what I knew I could sell them for. Eventually I even sold some fidget spinners back when they were popular. All of this was with the goal in mind, get rich quick and never actually do any work. Maybe I could have put in some work and made big money but I've missed the boat and the market is now too saturated to try to start up again. My takeaways from this experience, work hard, do your research, and learn how to market properly. Being an entrepreneur means doing a lot of work to reach your goals but like they say, "If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life."
